Double Kamon Furoshiki
$380.00
This exceptionally rare piece is printed with two “Kamon” (family crest) prints: Mitsumokkou (Three Bird Nests) and Butterfly. This was a Furoshiki, a wrapping cloth made for a wedding. Each crest represents the families of the bride & groom, and is used to wrap personal items of the bride to carry to her new home. The deep green color was dyed by indigo and “Kariyasu,” a plant used to achieve yellow. It is beautifully faded and has “sashiko” mending.
Excellent vintage condition. Great for a wall drop, a bed or sofa cover.
178 x 161cm (70.1 x 63.4 inches)
