Katazome Tote I
Tote bag made of vintage "katazome" textile.
This pure indigo textile, found in a small town in Nagano, Japan, has chrysanthemum and arabesque patterns printed with “katazome,” a traditional stencil dye technique. The vintage cotton fabric is approxmately fifty years old, was once part of a kimono dress. The tote is fully lined with deep indigo or kakishibu (persimmon dye) fabric Japan. Perfect, unique tote for everyday use.

Only 3 bags are available. All pieces are made from the same vintage fabric panel. Therefore, pieces have the same pattern yet may appear differently in the photo. Due to the nature of vintage fabric, the product may have fades, fabric pulls, wears, stains, small holes or patches.
