Saki-ori Blanket
$540.00
Saki-ori (lit. "split-weave") is an ultimate form of repurposed textile. It is created by shredding old, worn cloth into thin strips and weaving them as weft with cotton thread as warp. The saki-ori technique results in a sturdy, dense fabric that is typically sewn into jackets or into blankets to cover a futon duvet.
Approx. 100 years old, this is an exceptional piece of saki-ori woven with multi-color cloth and trimmed with red silk fabric. Excellent vintage condition and perfect for a bedcover or throw.
