Zanshi-ori (残糸織り) is fabric woven with random leftover threads, often for a weaver's personal domestic use. This fabric, scouted from a retired weavers's house in Nagano, Japan, is woven with multi-color threads and creates random yet beautifully harmonized unique checker pattern. The fabric embodies unconscious beauty came out of our Japanese ancestor's ultimate "mottainai" spirit.
