Suzuki Morihisa - Cast Iron
Suzuki Morihisa — 16th-Generation Nambu Tekki
From the city of Morioka in northern Japan, Suzuki Morihisa carries forward over 400 years of cast ironwork tradition. As a 16th-generation artisan of Nambu Tekki, he crafts pieces that honor centuries of technique while drawing inspiration from architecture, contemporary design, and nature.
Nambu Tekki is celebrated for its durability, heat retention, and understated elegance. Each piece begins with a precisely carved wooden mold — where even a fraction of a millimeter matters — and results in ironwork designed to be used, cherished, and passed down. From iconic kettles adorned with the classic arare (hailstone) pattern to modern household objects, Suzuki’s work bridges the functional and the beautiful.
Simple to care for and built to endure, these are objects made to become part of everyday life — quietly beautiful, deeply rooted in history, and meant to last.
