Cast Iron Trivet

A collaboration between Suzuki Morihisa and Simplicity, this trivet takes a minimalist circular form with three subtly interlocking “S” shapes worked into the design—a modern gesture within a traditional medium.
Nambu tekki cast iron has been produced in Iwate Prefecture since the mid-17th century. It is prized for its durability, heat resistance, and the way it develops a quiet patina over years of use. This trivet is no exception: designed to support hot kettles and pots, it combines enduring strength with a clean, contemporary line.
Each piece is individually cast, so slight variations in finish are part of its character. Dimensions: 13 cm diameter × 2 cm height. Made in Japan.
