Fuki-Urushi Spoon
Couldn't load pickup availability
A spoon finished in the fuki-urushi technique, where thin layers of natural lacquer are applied and gently wiped to reveal the wood grain beneath. The process gives the surface a smooth, organic feel—warm to the touch and pleasant in use.
Made by MEGURU in the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture, it reflects a lacquer tradition that values subtlety over decoration. Urushi is one of the most durable natural finishes known—used in Japan for thousands of years—and it only becomes more refined with time.
This spoon is designed for daily use. It pairs naturally with MEGURU’s fuki-urushi bowls, though it stands well on its own.
