Cast Iron Letter Opener

A letter opener shaped with an elegantly curved handle, designed for a comfortable grip and a clean, smooth cut. The weight of the iron gives it a satisfying heft—the kind of tool you reach for deliberately rather than out of habit.
Crafted by Suzuki Morihisa, a Nambu tekki foundry with over 400 years of continuous practice in Iwate Prefecture, this piece reflects the same iron-casting discipline applied to kettles, vases, and other everyday objects. The surface carries the fine grain of sand-cast iron, and it will only improve with use.
It is a small but precise thing—the sort of desk object that quietly says something about the person who chose it.
