Cast Iron Vase With Handle

Shaped like a mug and fitted with a forged iron handle at its side, this vase has the quiet solidity of something designed to last without fuss. Vertical striped lines run the length of the body, lending a subtle rhythm to its surface.
It is made by Suzuki Morihisa, a Nambu tekki studio operating continuously in Iwate Prefecture since the 17th century. Nambu cast iron is known for its density, its resistance to rust, and its ability to age gracefully—qualities that translate well from teapots and kettles to this restrained flower vase.
Equally suited to holding a single branch or a few seasonal stems, it brings an understated weight and presence to a shelf, table, or entryway.
